beware of hoax phone calls
Last Wednesday, while I was at work someone called my house at around 2:30pm identifying himself as a policeman from Pasay City and told my housemate that I had an accident. Moreover, he told her that I had caused the accident and that she should not "call me on the cellphone" because this had been confiscated by the police. He scared her saying that I was wounded and could not talk and that she should meet him in PGH. Of course, my friend texted me and soon found out that I was safe. In fact, this happened at the close of our tribute to Chit Estella. While, this is an old modus operandi..I thought that I would share this with all of you because of another phone call received in my house on the morning of the same day; this time answered by our apartment's receptionist. It was a call from a man claiming to be from Bayantel, asking if I was in and when told that I was out, inquired where I was and what time I would return. Of course, the only reply he received from the receptionist was "I don't know." I think this is significantly linked to the hoax call because the only document that links me to my present address and telephone number is my Globelines phonebill. All other bills and documents still contain my old address. So could this be an inside job...could an employee from Globelines be an informer for the dugo-dugo gang or the like?
