Mga Iskolar ng BayanThe UP Centennial Kick-off last January 8 was as grand as envisioned--from the motorcade, parade..torch lighting and concert. My only comment is that it could still have been better organized so that there was no wasted time during the torch lighting..which should have taken only twenty minutes and not two hours...the problem, I think, is that they let the 100-year old UP alumnus, Fernando Javier ('33), set the pace by making him walk around the oval. Even his excitement, they should have made him ride a chariot of sorts...the over-exertion may have dire consequences....The organizers should also have tapped the CMC Broadcast department for voice talents...their voice over talent may have had the right voice timber but he had a lot of grammatical errors. But, I most regret the fact that I did not hear the Carillon play because of the blaring sound system that kept on playing that "Ang Galing" theme song!!! More photos..
